Nude in Morning Chores. Oil on canvas by Robert Brackman, American 1898-1980. Brackman was an artist and teacher of Russian origin, best known for large figural works, portraits, and still life. This painting I interpret to being a maid, nude, pretending she is the mistress of the house and being waited upon. There is only one woman in that painting. Signed by the artist “Brackman” lower right hand corner. Au verso there is a hand written title by Brackman “Nude in Morning Chores” “Noank, Conn.”.  Canvas is on a stretcher and is in perfect condition Circa 1955. Frame is stained and painted wood with gold highlights. Probably period with inner linen, bevelled edge fillet. I have a Letter of Guarantee & Appraisal giving provenance, from Anne French Fine Arts dated March 2004 with corporate seal. Excellent condition.
